Does a member have to participate on the auction side to remain active and in good stead on the talk boards ? Just wondering ?
It's been a long time since I sold anything on the other side, and I've been here without any issues since then.
Not dumb at all. To be a member of this forum you must have a GB auction account- but you don't need to participate in the auctions (buying or selling). Even so, if you close your GB auction account your forum account also closes.
rumor was you had to be active on the auctions . but I never seen or read its mandatory maybe one of the mods will confirm for us the rules

as Mark stated, just have to have valid account, not based upon sales or purchases as far as I can tell.
No, you can buy and sell millions of dollars a year in the auctions...or not spend at penny. As long as you auction account remains open you can participate in these forums.
I vividly recall last year when some newbie strolled in to the forums and on his first post made it known that he was one of GB's top 500 sellers.
"Well, la di da." That was the man's first post, and it may have been his last.
My feelings are that what you do in the auctions has no bearing at all with your status in these forums.
