Putin orders nuclear deterrent forces on alert

Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised statement on Sunday that he was ordering Russia's nuclear deterrent forces on alert, as he continues his unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.
Driving the news: Speaking alongside his defense minister and military chief of staff, Putin said recent sanctions and "aggressive statements" from NATO countries had led him to put the nuclear deterrent forces in a “special regime of combat duty."
This is the second time Putin has alluded to Russia's nuclear arsenal while effectively warning the West to back off.
- In a statement at the onset of the invasion, Putin said anyone who tried to "hinder us" would face "such consequences that you have never encountered in your history."
- Fear of a standoff between nuclear powers is a large part of the reason the U.S. and its NATO allies have been so adamant that they will not send troops to Ukraine.
State of play: U.S. and Ukrainian officials say Russia's invasion is not going to plan due to stronger-than-expected Ukrainian resistance.
- The Kremlin and state media continue to tell Russians that no "war" or "invasion" is taking place, but a limited defensive operation in eastern Ukraine.
- The large protests in Moscow and St. Petersburg, despite the threat of mass arrests, indicate that many Russians aren't buying it.
What to watch: Having already threatened any independent publications that report on Russian casualties or aggression with censorship, the government is preparing to crack down harder on its citizens.
- The Kremlin today announced that "the provision of any assistance to a foreign state" during the "military operation" would be considered treason, carrying a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

Trump gave us incredible economic growth, record low unemployment, record low interest rates, a stronger military, increased median income, energy independence AND a conditions based exit plan from Afghanistan. He also gave us a higher national debt.
The current buffoon has wiped out those gains, given us an ever increasing national debt AND brought us to the brink of nuclear annihilation!
I wonder if Putin has thought about what ramifications getting bogged down in the west might be. His "good friend" Xi might decide that it would be a great time to expand to the north. Lots of resources up there, relatively easy troop movement, no way to stop him short of "nukes". Tiawan isn't going anywhere., plenty of time for that.
If he gets in a corner he will launch, he may even launch for the heck of it.
If NATO is supplying arms and logistics than they are interfering with his endeavors there which could provoke him to invade or attack with tactical nukes against that country that's doing it across the border , thus an All out NATO advance and WW III with Nukes!
The U.N. will finally get it's world army to save the day and find eternal peace in the light! If you hear that spy satellites are being taken out then it's time to run for the hills and hunker down . This will/is not a drill.

The 'cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war'
Meanwhile John Kerry is worried that the Ukraine invasion will detract from focus on Climate Change. What an idiot.
Maybe Russia and Ukraine can engage and somehow reduce their carbon footprints. Hey John, how about battery powered Mi24 attack helicopters?
My same thoughts. He is looking for a reason with his new hyper missile
Yep, he's just crazy enough to do it.
Meanwhile at the Whitehouse, Biden is trying to get Hunter to come over and play catch with the nuclear football.(yes, I am saying he is dumb enough to NOT know what the nuclear football actually is, and the people in charge are NOT gonna tell him the truth!)
Now is the time to cut 100%, not 80%, of Russian Banks from the world economy. Stop all US companies from doing business in Russia. Expel Russia from the UN. Declare Putin to be a war criminal.
Oh wait, we did the same damn thing 20 years ago. Maybe he and W can share a cell.
