A beautiful day.....
It was a beautiful day here in central MO.....I got rolling and spent some time outside with Martha before getting in my usual morning workout. Settled into my office space and ran the final numbers and got the tax packets pretty well finished off to turn in tomorrow !!! By about 4 my eyes were worn out and I had enough of the basement. Headed to the neighbors down the road, grabbed a rifle, yote call and my usual pack and out through the woods I went.
Called in a couple places and saw one way off in the distance but nothing close....did some shed hunting along the way but no luck there either...I ended up walking about 3.5 miles up and down the edges of the woods and trails in between. Lots of deer tracks, yote and bobcat tracks, squirrels, rabbits and a skunk.
Sat on a log and drank a Gator aide and headed back to my truck. The neighbor was at his shop then so caught up with him.. He told me where to look for sheds on another piece of property he owns so will have to get to that later this week as it is suppose to continue to be very Spring like....
Retirement is a good thing, good neighbors are a blessing, but doing taxes still sucks !

Beautiful day here in SW Virginia, also. I took the afternoon off from driving the bus to attack a stand on 40 year old cedar trees on a steep hillside. I pushed some over with the big Kubota (I love that tractor) and pushed them up in a big pile. When I light them off, they will see the flames from outer space.
How come you're burning cedar trees? What diameter trees do you get at 40 years in that part of the world?
We got about 4 inches of rain today.
We could use a little rain about now so planting can start in 6 weeks or so...
Here's the ending of my day, yesterday.
Cleaned up some downed limbs in the grove, and had a little bon fire.
That's a state park in the background.
Great photo diver-rig! You might have missed a few branches on the roof there.😉
Alexa says temp today will be 68. Taking some corn to the critters and will do a walk about searching for sheds. Should be a wonderfully sunny day to do so.
No rain needed here. After all the ice we are still knee deep in mud. It's our spring crop and it's a bumper this year.
