I am loading some 270 Winchester.I have always used Sierra or Hornady 130 gr for my hunting loads with good results.Being that components are hard to find,I dont have enough Sierra or Hornady bullets, but found a new box of Speer Grand slam.Anyone have experience with the Speers for hunting bullets? I also used H4831 SC(short cut)powder but all I have now is regular H 4831.Will the 2 interchange?

I have had great results with Grand Slams in my 270 for deer hunting. I switched from imr 4831 to h4350. Check Hogdons website. https://www.hodgdonreloading.com/reloading-data-center?rdc=true&type=54
Check a couple other reloading manuals.
It doesn't show a load for SC for 270 -130gr.
Thanks
4831 and 4831SC are the same powder but the SC has been shortened so that it meters better. Everything I've read says you can use the two interchangeably.
60 grains of H4831 (NOT IMR4831 which is faster!) with a 130 gr. bullet has pretty much been a standard .270 Winchester load for years.
