Nice. I live in a private community where the only national flag which may be displayed is the flag of the United States. The only other flag or banner which may be displayed is the flag of Florida.
The conflict in Ukraine is awful and Russian aggression is unseemly and untimely, and that basically and primarily because war is abhorrent. That said, I don't believe we are getting the full story from the media. Russia's actions are certainly not unexpected or unwarranted and to think the US (particularly Biden himself) and even Ukraine is not culpable in this is naive. And with the "all-in" strokes the media is painting with their broad brush as to how Russia is wholly in the wrong... well let's not forget this is the exact same media that told us Trump was a Russian agent who colluded with Putin to steal the 2020 election, fear mongered the entire nation into covid lockdowns, and helped cover up Biden's racism (all while saying Trump is a white supremacist). And that with a unified voice.
Have we forgotten this?
Don't get me wrong. The Ukrainian people are wonderful. Their culture is beautiful. But I'm not about to be waving their nation's flag just because Russia invaded. And particularly not because the media tells me that's the alliance I should have. Let's not forget that nation is one of the world leaders in child sex trafficking and generally the exploitation of children.

And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
This thing in Ukraine is nothing new. It's been going on since the beginning of time. It's just the Russian's this time. In another century or so it'll be another group of people. They never pass up a chance to have a war. A 5 year old kid with a box of crayons could design a better looking flag than that.
"The oldest known main inhabitants of Ukraine were Cimmerians. They were replaced in 5th century BC by Scythians, who ruled till 2nd century BC; Sarmatian tribes then replaced them. Later in 1st century AD the tribesmen of the dominant horde were called Alanis. These tribes, mainly of Iranian origin, were conquered in 2nd century AD by German tribe called Goths from Baltic region. About 370 AD, the first Asian horde of Huns, on their way to western Europe, defeated and expelled Goths from Ukraine. They were followed in 5th-6th centuries by the Bulgars and Avars.
At end of 7th century AD, Khazars established themselves on Caspian steppes, which somewhat shielded Ukraine from other Asian hordes. Also in the 7th century Greeks left Black Sea shores, thus causing a considerable gap in the documented history of Ukraine. Khazar control of the steppe was breached in the late 9th century by the Magyars, who later were replaced by Pechenegs and then by Polovetsians as dominant tribes."

Well at least Putin cured the pandemic. I haven't heard anything on the news about the China Flu lately so it must be gone.

One thing that really surprised me was the response by some elder Russian parents to events in Ukraine as described by their sons/daughters who live there. They did not believe them! I assumed it was from blackout by Russian State Media. Still, with all the protest going on in Russia, I don't really know the answer.----------------------Ray
