gun shows? I used to go to probably 1 or 2 a month. Bought many a fire arm. Haven't been to one in probably 15 years! All of my purchases have even right here since then.

1 in the last 3 years. Use to go to one at least twice a month. Started being SSDD.
Last one I went to about 2 months ago, prices were crazy, but I did buy one gun off a guy walking around, and couple of boxes of 9mm for $16/box. I sold 2 pounds of 3X black powder that I didn't need for $20/lb.
I went to the show in Tampa last fall with a couple of friends. It was disappointing to say the least. Lunch and beers following the show were the day's highlight.
At one time the local shows were the best place to get reloading supplies. Not so much anymore.
Just the one here in my office.
Quit going. More and more junk,at higher and higher prices.
i dont go with any expectations of buying anything. i just go for the "entertainment value" a way to spend a few hours, certainly cheaper than a movie. every now and again i find something im willing to spend a little money on.
I went to one last weekend. Not many firearms, lots of overpriced survival equipment, crappy military surplus items and cheap knives.. I was able to handle some new firearms but prices were out of line...
same here its been at least 10 or 12 years ago and only then to take a co-worker and his son as they had never been to one
I use to look forward to gun shows lot of fun searching out deals trading and selling but sadly that went out the door too many years ago the internet hurt a lot then greed set in finding a deal became like where's waldo
years ago the arena ( now torn down (Hara arena ) had many rooms and sections filled with every thing and aby thing and people packed in like sardines so many deals and odd ball guns and people willing to deal or sell . then it got to be one big room the rest were not needed and 1/4 of the room was flemarket goods or window door sales and such
what guns were there were 2x at least what they wore worth but many sold we have face to face selling and many were willing to pay crazy prices to avoid any paper work . I knew two brothres who set up at them and did very well they would but entire collections always top of the line NIB or close to it many dealers sent the batf after them severl times as they had no FFL only private collectors selling there collection
they would buy a lot at the shows from walk in people but would not resell it that weekend ( they knew it would get them busted for dealing but some still took the chance and got caught one undercover would sell them a gun a few minutes later his partner uncover also would buy it ... oooppps your busted but next month they knew all they had to say I did not like it it was not what I wanted or expected so selling my personal collection
There's two locally I go to. What I buy mostly is peripheral stuff. Bullets for calibers less in demand. 270, 25, 458. Scopes cleaning stuff. I still look at the guns and the prices but never see anything I need or don't already have. I try to avoid impulse buying. I've done it in the past and now I'm making plans to get rid of some. I just need to trade them in for something I really want.
Naw- I'm pretty well stocked on beef jerky, costume jewelry and T shirts.
It's probably been 15 years since I went to a gun show. Like I told my wife, "I have all the guns I need". 😉

I used to love them now not so much. Its been about 5 years since I went. The entry price went up to $10, inside was noting all that great and it was all priced way too high.
now is the time to get a table and clean out the gun cabinet, I did a show about a year ago, one table. put all that old junk I had laying in bottom of cabinet, old scopes, rings, half boxes of ammo I no longer had guns for, some reloading stuff, parts for 410 conversion on Mec 500jr, couple bags of wads, a lot of the duplicate mec bushings I had, and a few things I knew I would never use. ended up with over $800 for a bunch of I considered junk, even sold a few old broken guns I had for parts. enjoyed the weekend mainly just chatting with folks about guns and stuff and haggling over prices, some stuff I gave away to folks who came through with small kids, it would light up the faces of the kids to give them a scope, or an old pocket knife, with their dads/moms permision. probubly could have made another $100 if I hadn't of given so much stuff away, but it was worth it to me and I hope the kids remember and pass it along as they get older.......
Been over 2 yrs since but dealers were anxious to make deals.
