.22 Mag day at the range......

It was a beautiful day today....decided to head out to the nearby outdoor range for the first time this year. Had the place to myself for about an hour or so. I found a bunch of odds and ends in my ammo box and put together 63 rounds of .22 mag from several partial used boxes. Grabbed another full box and headed out.

I shot a Kel-Tec CMR and PMR to get started. Fun guns for sure. I moved on to my S&W 648 and shot the remaining ammo through a Savage 93. I am a big fan of the .22 Mag and enjoyed shooting all four of these firearms today....Did a little fishing after and grabbed some ice cream on the way home....

Get out there and put a few rounds down range this week if you get the chance....😁

I was working in Atlanta years ago and stopped at Bass Pro Shop. They had the Savage 93,22mag on sell for about 100 bucks..It is probably one of the most accurate rifles I have ever shot.It really likes Remington 33 grain plastic tip ammo.

I bought mine on a close out also. When Dick's sporting goods decided to just be a yuppy store, they had some great close outs of firearms. I paid under 200 bucks for mine. It has the fluted barrel and a green stock. I replaced the factory scope with an upgraded Vortex.

I was shooting clay pigeon pieces at 75 yards. Great little rifle !

Great. I need to get out and sight in my ruger 22 mag. Just to windy yesterday.

That is one of my favorite calibers..

Have always liked the 22WMR..........heck, I even unloaded and then reloaded(10% more factory powder, plus a Speer 40gr Spire-Point bullet) a bunch of it back in the day.

    There's my S&W648, AMT Lightning, Savage-Anschutz 54M, and KOO S-Series 22Mag.

    Long ago.....there was also my Win 9422M, S&W48(w/extra 22lr cylinder assy), KOO 22Mag, and Savage-Anschutz 164M.

Note to self......be REALLY, REALLY careful "unloading" live 22WMR rounds!!  :)

I LOVE the feel and accuracy of my savage 93. I bought this one because I like savage, and this is the only left hand 22wmr that I could afford. The Accu trigger is awesome and it makes ragged holes consistently at 50 yards. That said......I HATE HATE HATE the magazine. I have received 2 from savage(plus the orig). All 3 are VERY temperamental. If I don't push the mag in a little more after opening the bolt, it will JAM the next round into the bottom of the feed ramp and push the bullet into the casing!🤬😡

How do you like the cmr30? I wanted the pmr30, never bought it. Now I really want the CMR30.

I know you have both(yes I'm jealous) BUT if you HAD to pick ONE. Which would you choose? Curious because you have hands on with both side by side. I'm looking at it for a bug out type gun.

I have the same issue with my 93.....the 10rd mags are about worthless...the 5rd can be tweek a might but generally I just push up on the bottom of the mag while cycling the bolt....

I really like both the PMR and CMR....the CMR is a little more ammo picky and once it get dirty, game off. It is however quite accurate with the right ammo. I have mounted a Sig Romeo sight on it to aid my old eyes...

The PMR is also a ton of fun....accurate and as long as you follow the ammo recommendations,reliable....I would hate to part with either one, but would likely keep the PMR if I had to choose..
