started out as one of those days...........
got up and the coffee pot isn't working, started to play with it, its an old kureg, close to 10+ years or so. went to the sink to get water and noticed a black line on counter, turned the lights on and it was ants! wife or grandkids left an apple pie out on counter just below window and the wife had left the window open. so I start the war with them, then the dog needs out, she is nipping on my hands so I let her out only it is raining and she won't go off the porch, so I go back in to finish the ant fighting. then i get the urge to go to the bathroom so off i go, when I open the door of the bathroom to go back to the ant fight the dog is jumping around the hall and had pooped and peed outside the door.
went and sat down in my recliner to cool off, as sometimes my temper gets the best of me, only no coffee to cool off with, as I pulled the handle of my recliner to lean back to relax a few minuted the hand breaks off in my hand, I have replaced this twice once with a plastic one, which broke in few months then this pot metal one for few bucks more, it didn't even make it a year! I have to pee again but now am afraid If i go to the bathroom something in/on me will break!!!!!!!!!! I think when the ants are dead I'm going back to bed...........

Sounds like a hell of a start, HB! At least you didn't wake up lookin' at roots.
Welcome to my world.
Dang, you got a doozy started there! Hope things level out for you.
it will get better
Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed.
Well, I guess my day is just stellar by comparison.
I sure hope that all of your bad ju ju is now over and you can enjoy the rest of your day after all, you're caught up.
I suggest you try getting up on the other side of the bed tomorrow hillbillie!
My late great aunt used to always tell me that ants are about the cleanest insects in the animal world. They even come chocolate covered in out of the way places. Hope this advise comes in handy for that pie my friend! 😁
Vise grips make good handles. Especially the cheapos at harbor freight.
Drink some vodka and everything will be alright.
Just not Russian Vodka.
Sounds like you had a major interaction with Murphy's Law.
If it wasn’t for the bad days it would cause us to not appreciate the good days.
Sounds like some of my days that happen all too often. I'm afraid there is only one sure cure, and I'm not ready for that yet.
Joe
You made me glad for my day. Got up at 7 AM, at 8:30 went to meet some friends for coffee where we solved the troubles of the world. Then went to my buddy's pawn shop where I hit a $50 Lotto win. Proceeded to Walmart where my prescription was ready (!), and picked up a bunch of groceries for us and a neighbor. Just spent the last hour or so sipping on a nice Tennessee adult beverage while waiting for my dinner to be prepared by SWSBO. (She who shall be obeyed) I hope tomorrow is better for you! Dang! I love retirement!!!!
Going into evening, how'd you do the rest of the day?
won the battle on the ants, not sure you can win a war against them. finally got coffee pot working again, and got a new handle ordered for chair, in meantime hooked a small vice grip to cable for next day or so. only thing can't fix is the dog she peed in floor again as we had a thunderstorm and she just wouldn't go outside. well 3 outta 4 on a day like that is pretty good percentages in my book.......
When I turned my phone on @4:15 AM, it went into spasms of shaking and buzzing. Text message in all caps "NEED HELP FLAT TIRE BRING AIR". The message was 5 minutes old (about the time it takes for Grouch Attack to reach the main road from our house). GEEZ, the coffee pot hadn't even started perking yet.
Grabbed my 'gitty-up-go' cordless compressor and a battery and out the door. Tried the old farm pickup which I'd just spent over $500 on and it wouldn't start AGAIN. Jumped in my work pickup and almost left w/o the compressor. Took about 20 minutes to get there, inflate the tire, see it had a fairly major leak, and she said she didn't have time to get to work w/o being late so she called in sick. Had I known that, I could have taken my time and waited for that first cup of coffee to brew.
