Gutters cleaned and more...

I had to call the man to clean my gutters they were in bad shape. The back side of the house is 3 stories high and as dizzy as I am I could just see a big bloody spot and me lying in it on the concrete if I did it myself as I have in years past when I was healthy.

The company was recommended to me by the real estate agent that sold us the house. He said they do a lot of work for him. They're a roofing, gutter and siding company. The guy they sent was a hard working and very nice guy. Not only did he clean the gutters but while he was up there he said I had 3 ridge cap shingles missing. He said he had some spare shingles in the truck so he replaced them. He also said a couple of my vents were coming lose so he nailed them down. I tried to pay him extra for the work it but he wouldn't take it, he said we're good. I tried to give him a tip at least but he wouldn't take it either, he just said we're good.

I'm going to call his company Monday and tell'em what a good job their man did. I'll pass on the info to every body I know that needs any work done.

My neighbor was asking me about him yesterday while he was there and I told him he's doing a great job so before he left my neighbor had him down behind his house giving him an estimate on replacing some siding around a window that his dog chewed up. They made a deal and he'll be back to fix his siding as soon as he finds the match for it.

You hear so many horror stories about these home repair companies and when you find a good one they need all the praise they can get.

I've been getting my lawn mowers ready to start mowing. I worked on them off and on this winter. I replaced a drive cable and a side shut on my walk behind that pulls it's self. I was going to start mowing next weekend as soon as I get rid of this heart monitor. Yesterday morning I hear a law mower going around the house and I looked out and it was my neighbor Jeff that's been mowing my lawn for the past 2 years while June was sick and I was inside taking care of her.

I had told him I was ready to start mowing this year and that he wouldn't need to worry about me anymore. He had just bought a brand new riding mower and he said he was just trying it out and besides he said you need to find out the results of that heart monitor before you start doing any hard work. How do you ever repay people like that?

When I had surgery June used to do everything around the house besides taking care of me. She was 63 years old in the photo and she'd climb up on the roof and paint or what ever she needed to do. All I was able to do was hold the ladder back at that time.
