Range time with some of my older firearms......
drobs' thread on working guns inspired me to check the safe and find some neglected firearms I have not shot much in the past several years. The four firearms I took to the range had been purchased between 27 and 36 years ago. Included were a Ruger MKII 5 1/2" that my bride gave me on my 27th birthday. A S&W 669 which was the first "New" centerfire pistol I purchased for myself. An older nickeled Colt DS I purchased from a friend that needed some money, he is no longer with us so this gun is special to me.. And finally a Glock 26. I bought it a few months after they came out and it has been one of my favorites ever since....
The Ruger is as accurate as the day I bought it....I lost track several years ago, but at that time it had over 60K rounds through it.....The 669 and G26 were both guns I carried at different times and I would feel comfortable with either of them now. The DS is smooth. The only problem I have now is I have a hard time seeing the front sight as it is nickeled and the light bouncing off it....(sounds better than I am old and can't see it)
I enjoyed the range time and figure soon enough I will be passing these on to my sons. But today was a good day at the range with good memories to go with it....

It's always fun to visit with old friends.
Congrats
I am in the same boat it's amazing how fast time goes by I know I have a gun or three that have not been shot for 40 plus years If not longer . a couple I bought at local gun shows I have never even fired been in the safe for ever it seems like they were used so no safe queens just never seem to get around to taking the time to waste ammo
I need to go to the back of the safe and dig out some of the lever guns again been awhile since I've shot them
Yep I'm the same as Ditch-Runner, I have several that I've owned for 30+ years and never fired, and several more that haven't been fired in 30-40 years. I have a Winchester 94 32 Special that hasn't been fired since the mid-late 70s. The same with my dad's Savage 99.
