I have a barrel and the some of the action for a Springfield 1898 (trapdoor). I am looking for advice and help on how best to collect all the parts needed to restore it to original configuration as best I can if that is possible.
Any suggestions will be well received and appreciated.

That's not a Trapdoor Springfield. It's a U.S. Model 1898 Krag made by Springfield Armory. Caliber should be .30-40 Krag.
So, now you know what make and model parts to ask for, and when you're done, the rifle should look like this:

S&S Firearms carries a lot of Springfield Krag parts
Wow, that is quite the handsome rifle. Thank you both for helping ID correctly it as well as where to find parts to restore it.
The stock alone is going to cost over or close to 400.00
