Anyone else missed the Apocalypses?

yoshmysteryoshmyster Member Posts: 21,879 ✭✭✭✭

I started re-watching "Supernatural" and I got to the season where Dean comes back from hell and he goes "Apocalypse? The Apocalypse, Apocalypse? The Four Horsemen, pestilence, $5.00 a gallon gas apocalypse? Then I thought (wait a tick) I just filled up my car with $120.00 worth of regular at $5.85 and that's over $5.00 a gallon . Being season 4, that was like 2008 and that took like 14 years for that to happen here in California. So it has begun?

I know Famine is near by (look at the shelves) and the Chinese owns Smithfield's so get ready for the pork shortage but I got plenty of toilet paper. Then Pestilence is also close by with the new and improved bird flu.

Definitely signs of the end times. But......no one will know the hour nor the day. I'm sure SEVERAL civilizations had the same thought..... this has to be the end.

One day, that thought WILL be correct however!

Every culture believes that they are living in the end times.

No I didn't mean all bible story like (I know this subject is a forboden here).

I was surprised there wasn't more complaining about the gas prices being over $5.00 let alone closer to $6.00. I remember they made more noise when the gas hit $4.00 a gallon. Maybe it's because the folks got those fat government checks to stay home? Or maybe it's the frog in a boiling pot of water effect?

I saw the pork butt is on sale this week at Safeway for .97 cents a pound but I still got one from last year I haven't had the courage to defrost and cook up. Might be the last chance until next year?

I wonder if I'll see the whole chicken hit $1.00 a pound again?
