From what I can find out, the dog bone boxes were made from approximately 1930-36, but were still used into the 40's. If it's stamped army on the box, there should be a lot number with a dash, and that number after the dash should be the year of manufacture. Nice package!

Some of those are rated for standard velocity ammo only, I believe you can tell by the backstrap.

I have one almost exactly like that. Inherited from my Dad, who traded a tank full of diesel for it about 1949. Serial # indicates 1936-7. I still shoot it occasionally with standard velocity ammo.
