He is awesome. Sure hope he leaves Martha alone.

I know that bald eagles like to scrounge up fish that are washed up on the shore. Would a bald eagle catch a cat and eat it?
"Would a bald eagle catch a cat and eat it?"
Not that different from a jackrabbit, lamb, or goat kid. Three or four years back, I saw a bald eagle pecking at the eyes of a downer cow AND SHE WASN'T DEAD YET.
I saw one carrying off what looked to be a squirrel once. Usually when I see them they are working over something dead in my hayfield. Not sure if they killed it or not in most cases..
Bald eagles are very opportunist feeders. They will eat anything made of meat. Alive, dead, rotten... Doesn't matter.
Pretty much white-headed buzzards. I almost ran into one in my pickup that was eating a dead rabbit. I was negotiating a sharp curve on a county road, and we both were surprised!
We have a nesting pair behind the house that has returned for the past 4 years . I have seen them catch rabbits and fly off with them . Doubt they would have trouble with a cat.
The whole neighborhood enjoys watching them . Just don't want the feds taking notice. Federally recognized nesting areas come with a lot of restrictions i am told .
