Other than the name. What is it about a Weber that commands the premium price? I am grill shopping and trying to justify the extra expense.

Customer service & quality. You call, they answer, are polite & efficient. Other "name brands" just bought the name & don't cut it. Webber has your name & what grill you have on file. The only problem I have is with the electronic lighting system. Mine is 19 years old & works like new.

They last forever at least the charcoal ones do . Only other grill I have seen that lasted this long is a Holland .

That is exactly correct for the gas ones also. Mine is at least 20 years old and have only replaced the flavor bars once in that time.

My gas Weber grill is around 15 years old and still going. I did replace those drip bars a couple years ago with heavy angle iron that I cut to fit. The lower cabinet is starting to rust out and the double doors are now held in place with a short bungy cord.

It has been the longest lasting grill I have ever had. The early grills were made by Charbroil and one by Bakers & Chefs which is a Sams Club brand. All of those were what I would call 3 season grills. 3 years was about tops before the burners went bad and the rest of the units were not worth putting new parts into.

Allow me to once again make this recommendation: whatever make or model you have, replace the factory grates with these.

    You will thank me profusely.

Weber has AWESOME customer service and a GREAT product. They covered replacements for free under warranty and gave discounts for things out of warranty(food grate burned out and the bottom damper rusted out). They saved me money even though they didn't have to because it was WAY out of warranty. And yes, their OEM replacement's were cheaper than aftermarket when they gave me the discounts.

PS, charcoal experience only here, but I'm sure the gas variety would work the same way!

Weber are great grills don't get me wrong but, don't buy one with a circular "lift out" in the center for a "pot" installation! The small tips on the circular piece deteriorate very quickly🤨

Bought a house with a nice outdoor kitchen with built in natural Weber grill. It was in pretty rough shape so I needed to refurb it to be able use it. Couldn't find that model number anywhere to order parts so I called them. Customer service person didn't recognize the model number, either. Put me on hold for about a minute, came back on & said "ooh, you have a custom grill. Let me transfer you to the custom department."

Nicest CS person I've ever dealt with identified all the parts, all new burners, igniters, etc., gave me discount pricing and shipped for free. $5,000 non-working grill totally re-worked for $140. We used the heck out of it as long as we lived there. Fantastic product and even better customer service.
