This is most dire. Most dire indeed. I remember the first time I read Keats' poem "On First Looking Into Chapman's Homer" and noticed he wrongly attributed discovery of the Pacific to Cortez rather than Balboa. Whether this was an oversight or done deliberately because Cortez was more in keeping with the rhyme scheme did not matter. I remember not enjoying "Matlock" for several episodes after that.
