Our Semi-New Dog
Since montanaJoe posted his new family member, I thought I would share our newest family member. This dog came to us in the first part on Dec. 2021, and was just a year old. He was one of these COVID dogs we hear about, and was at least semi-neglected. The young woman(20-21 YO) we got him from had got him from a homeless dude down town when he was 3-4 months old. At some point the homeless guy wanted him back, then a couple months later she got him back again.
While she was off on COVID shutdowns, she stayed with her mother. Consequently the dog had human contact 24-7. Plus she took him everywhere he went. When COVID shutdowns were lifted, and she went back to work, she rented a place in another town. There she had a male room mate who allegedly abused the dog. Plus when she went to work, she locked the dog on a plastic kennel box, which he dug his way out of.
This is where we got him. He had huge separation anxiety but now we can leave him for 3-5 hours, and he's ok with that. He is definitely a work in progress, but he's a sweet dog and VERY lovey,
Meet Bishop the dog.....

Good for you and the family
Very handsome buddy
Welcome to the family Bishop..
Well done HPD. The color and markings on Bishop are just beautiful.
Hi Bishop! Looks like you came out a winner. Thanx for making him a permanent home, HPD. Sometimes, I think it might be best that they can't tell us where they've been and what they've seen. It's all new from this day forward.
You're a lucky boy, Bishop!
(You too, HPD!)
Good lookin pup, from the twinkle in his eye, I bet you two have fun.
Mule
Is this a moderator/admin thing? I may need to get me a new doggy, we are down to just one little guy and the cat we rescued back awhile, It may be time for a new rescue of something bigger like you both got recently... Kimber and Bishop are both great looking "Lucky dogs"
...Good on ya'll...and a very lucky puppy!...Handsome young guy too!..
...I did a double take when I saw Bishop, I had a girlfriend back when that had his twin brother!...
...I have a male and female Dobie that drive me crazy at times, but so did my daughter...they all mean the world to me...nothing better than a good pup and a good horse...
Our little "person" had to spend 24 hours at the vets, got the runs bad and had to have IV's. Blind and diabetes to. Had to wait a couple hours in the waiting room. Sad times for at least three families.
Two ladies carried a * dog in, very old, they left crying without the dog. Second couple carried their buddy in, it seemed to be lifeless. They left shorty crying to. Third family came rushing in and got the vets, that dog looked like a big lab, had to restrain him on a strecher and it was convulsing and throwing up. I would guess antifreeze. We left before finding out if the dog made it or not. Sad times for sure.
While with us they give all their heart, when they leave they take part of ours with them.
Howdy Bishop! Good on ya HPD!! (and I'm not just sayin' that to make inroads with a Sr. Moderator neither.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Happy dog I'm sure.
Hello Bishop. You're a handsome feller.
Rotty/German Shepard?
I really enjoy giving my superiors "promote's" for being best friends with man's best friends! ☺️
I think they are spending their sign on bonus.................
I am for sure. I'm trying to see how much we can spend on a "free" dog.🤣
