So hard anymore. I don’t come here near as often as I ounce did but nowadays it is nearly impossible to find the forums for the home page and ounce you do it takes a lot to get logged in. Maybe it is just me.

The link to the forums is at the bottom of the page, where it has been for as long as I can remember...
Problems with logging into the forum need to be directed to Customer Service. Once forum accounts and auction accounts were linked, GBHQ handles these issues. They can no longer be dealt with by forum admins.
Thanks. Not asking admins to change anything. Just saying if it was easier I would be here more. How can we/they attract new forum members when te existing ones struggle to find it.
I don't struggle. Don
I do
I have logged it 3 times tonight and it has taken me multiple times to get here.
But I am doing it form an IPhone.
The screen shot that Mark posted is not the same as my phone.
it asks me to log in and it takes me to the auction site
Too be 100% honest, finding new members is tied directedly to new buyers and sellers signing up on the auction side- most of whom come into the forum with an auction gripe. Retaining old members is not a genuine priority.
Understand that the GB you remember from 2006 (when you joined) is GONE. Gun Broker is no longer an independent company. The forum now operates according to whatever Ammo, Inc (the parent company) wants. @montanajoe and I worked long and hard just to have GBHQ allow the forum to be visible to those who aren't logged in, which includes former members who won't register with the auctions. This is currently allowed on a "trail basis".
For better or worse, this is reality.
Thank you for all you guys do.
I have the forum main page as a favorite and my Mac remembers my name and password so I don't even have to log in.
I was having all kinds of issues trying to log in, and I finally found the culprit that was causing the frustration. I use Firefox, but I was scammed by some Indians and they switched me to microsoft edge without my knowledge. Getting rid of edge is a battle loaded with frustration. But I finally managed to return Firefox back to its rightful place.
Good Luck,
Joe
Websites have to be designed differently for traditional screens versus phones or tablets. Things won't display properly otherwise. And some functions are different or absent, as well. I'm not an IT guy, so the details are beyond me. But I do know that the device you choose to use affects what you get. The browser you use also has a major impact.
All that said, it is a bit cumbersome to sign on here because as Mark explained, the reason for allowing members is to support the auction side. The forums are completely subservient to that - and could be eliminated at the whim of the owners.
I check the box that says "Keep me signed in" and thus only have to sing in perhaps once a month. When I am forced to, I get sent to the auction side. If I then click on my bookmark again I come here, and am usually signed in again.
I only view from an iphone and have no issues finding or maintaining my forum login.
I thought this was going to be about trees-Tom
It sorta is, Tom. They give you tree tries to sign in, and then you have to leaf. Stumped. Which is why the OP is barking.
Retaining old members is not a genuine priority.
What a drag it is getting old ...
It's troglodytist!
Instead of links, just type forums.gunbroker.com or gunbroker.com depending on whether you are after the forums or auctions respectively. Once you've done it once, it'll be in your auto-complete unless you have that turned off. Alternatively, there's always bookmarks/favorites.
