If my week mind serves me correctly, there may be "misfits" involved.🙃

I regret to say that he notified me in April that he wanted to leave the forums and instructed me to lock his account and to delete all of his forum content. His reasons were not made clear, only that he wanted out.

I brought this up with @montanajoe who was equally surprised. I lobbied hard hoping to get LS&D to change his mind, but to no avail. I told him that he is welcome back any time, and I meant it.

LS&D...the Gun Broker Forum Welcome (back) Matt is out for you:

As Mark said it was his choice and Mark respected that, he is missed by many, myself included.

Wow. I will definitely miss his posts. Great contributor.

Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

Sorry and surprised to hear this. I hope he returns when he feels it's time.

I wonder why they felt the need to do that Mark. I was extremely active with this forum in the early 2000's. I was off work and unable to do so with debilitating back pain. This forum, more specifically the people in it, really helped me through that dark chapter. Through multiple surgeries and adequate application of daily opiates since, I was able to finally to return to functional working society. On the forums, I still go in streaks where I'll visit for weeks or months, then not for a year or two. I do always like to see familiar faces when I drop back in.

Speaking of which, one of the last times I was in, I saw that JuJu's wife was having issues and I contributed to her fight. Any word from him or how that turned out? I think Mike's wife's name was Judy. I hope all is well.

This forum has (and has had) some great people, and some real characters too. Getting to meet a few of them at the Tulsa show a few times was great too.

Judy passed away. Mike has not been heard from in quite a while. Don

I'll take the opportunity to point out a couple of things:

In the old forum, members whose accounts were locked received a little padlock on their accounts. Generally this is due to misbehavior, but occasionally it was because a member want out of the forum. In this forum locking an account results in being labeled as BANNED, which reads as being the result of harsh discipline. This was not the case for LS&D, but the software doesn't allow for anything else.

As for deleting content (everything a member posted), this was sometimes requested by a departing member in the old forum. At that time the only way to accomplish was for an admin to go into the member's account and physically delete every thread and post one by one. Since many members had thousands of posts, Captian Fun, Nunn, and myself were not exactly keen on the idea of spending hours (or days) hitting the delete button. The content remained.

This forum is different. On the staff's moderation panels, we have the option of deleting all of a members content...whether or not they are banned. Essentially your forum account is wiped clean, with your past history no longer visible. LS&D had posted some great stuff, but insisted his content be deleted. I complied.
