rehoming parrots

Isn't like dogs or cats, parrots live 50 to 70 years. My wife thinks she has to "rescue" every critter that crosses her path [including some where the critter in question already has a home].
We have a 20 year old yellow naped amazon and a 7 year old sulfur crested cockatoo that we would like to rehome together. She took them in when the previous owner had to go to long term care.
Parrots bite, and scream, and destroy things, and get passed around a lot.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

My cousin is something of an amateur animal mediator if you will. Not for the animals, but for potential owners. She known in her area and is always trying to link people with proper pets. When it comes to birds like Parrots, she requires the family to actually have a formal will, trust, or other written plan in place of what will happen with the animals before she will help. I don't quite understand what she does. She doesn't own a pet shop. She isn't a breeder. But, somehow she gets paid to help get the right pet and the right person together. Sometimes that means getting them from elsewhere and bringing them in.
Parrot rescues abound (e.g., parrotshavenrescue.org). That parrots bite, and scream, and destroy things, and get passed around a lot is not unique to the species; my first two ex-wives did as much, and as little.
RE: longevity, I have a similar problem with my Icelandic horses, which frequently live into their 40's and will most certainly outlive me. Unfortunately, my daughter and only surviving kin has no interest in horses.
Hope all is well with you, Henry.
Mmmm... exotic squabs.
I'm great with all animals....horses, dogs, cats, but for whatever reason birds do not like me. I've been bitten by a few birds that people PROMISED were so sweet and would never hurt anyone. I have no clue why??? I love them....I'd LOVE to have a bird. I think I'd be a great bird-mom....but I like having skin.
It is now time for the reading of the will.
To my darling Fiona, I leave the house on the hill along with the rental property in Paradise Hollow.
To my daughter Sally, I leave all the funds in my bank account at 1st National and my car collection.
To my long lost son Andy, who left home 30 years ago and made no contact with his family, I leave you Petey the Parrot. I wish you both well. 😁
What? Johnny Depp now homeless?
