I was on the road for my birthday, so some of my family wants to get together this Saturday....all of us wanted to see the Top Gun movie, so that will be the start of the evening. My brother and one of his friends has found a theater that has D-Box seating....which is NUTS. It is big recliners that vibrate with parts of the movie. There are 9 of us going. We are going out to eat afterwards and probably some other naredowell activities will follow.

Sounds like you have a good plan.
Thats a night that no one will forget.
Enjoy !
Its a fun movie! You’ll have a great time!
Reminds me of the 1950's movie "The Tingler" A parasite that attached to the spinal cord of people and when it did many of of the seats in the theater vibrated, to startle people. Seems like we are back to simpler times. And movies. I think we are going to see ol' Maverick again on my birthday. Hot dogs, no vibrators. Happy belated birthday Kasey!🎂
We were at a movie last week and TG was playing in the theater next to us. You could hear the sounds through the wall.
At first I thought it was thunder as they had predicted thunderstorms in our area. Took me a while to figure out that it was not thunder but was the movie.
Based on what I heard those seats will be rumbling.
Sounds great..have fun...
When I was a kid some theaters had what I think was called "sensoround" for films like Earthquake and the Towering Inferno. Enjoy Top Gun.
It's a great movie. You will love it.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Enjoy!
Gonna be cool. Have fun.
Great movie, it's possibly the only movie that my wife said she would go back to see again.
all ready seen it twice , would go again if there was a theater like the one you're going too near by
To each their own but I had just as soon miss all the TC action.
Might talk the wife to go see Jurassic Park. Still have not figured out how all those previous actors that were made in to dino poop are alive and well in the latest version.
There is a theater about an hour form here, Heated and cooled recliner seats spaced nicely apart.
He Dog - When I read "rumble seats" my brain went to that John Goodman movie.
Have fun Kasey,
A reclining massage chair would put me to sleep regardless of the movie.

There has to be a report on this outing,,,, @Locust Fork
Ok.....so....here is how my adventure went.
It was a belated birthday get together for me and a few of my family/friends. We met up at my brother's house. I had brought a Pappa Murphey's pizza with me because I was a little early and STARVING. My aunt met us there and my brother took over driving my car where we met the rest of our crew at the theater....there were 11 of us. It was the LUX theater off Lakeshore, a new theater that has a BAR....along with the D-Box seating we were excited to try.
The movie was GREAT. The D-box seats are big, comfy recliners that don't just vibrate...but they move a bit here and there with the movie. So, the overall affect was better than expected. The prices for drinks and snacks were above what is even your normal crazy price though....$6 for a bottle of water! So, if you go its good to know this ahead of time.
After the movie we popped over to Chilis which was very close to the theater....where the idiot working the door told us that she couldn't sit us all together and we would have to be split up into small groups on seperate sides of the restaraunt. So, we loaded up and wen't two doors down to the Mexican place where they were happy to seat our Viking hoard all in one place.
We were having an EXCELLENT time visiting with each other, eating until we were all in near comas......then.....someone put a sombrero on my head and my reaction was to JUMP UP and start entertaining the whole room. Finger guns pointing to random tables and yelling "Its mah birthday!" Dancing and having a great time making a complete fool of myself. There is a small video somewhere of this nonsense.
We made it home without anyone making the news or having to pay damages. I'm looking forward to our next adventure. I think we are set to see a broadway show this weekend. Its Kinky Boots....a story about a shoe factory that is on the verge of closing before they start making crazy shoes for cross dressing guys. The movie was good, so I'm sure the show will be a lot of fun.....whatever we get into afterwards will be interesting for sure!
Dancing with The Worm, glad you had a great time Kasey.
