"How to generate lots of paperwork for the Range Safety Officer"🙄

Looks like he performed steps one and two just fine but really screwed up #3.

Well I bet he won't do that again - lesson learned.

Back in the early '80's I'd frequent a barbershop where all the old timers would get their hair cut. I'd wait until the place was pretty full and then go in. Some of the tall tales and, I'm sure, true stories I heard were amazing.

One day I was in there and the gentleman in the chair getting his hair cut, suddenly grabbed the barber by the right wrist and examined his hand. "Elmer, how'd you lose the end of your right thumb?" he asked. Elmer calmly explained that during a very hectic day on Iwo Jima he lost the end of his thumb by letting it remain over the end of the mortar tube just a bit too long. All very matter of fact, no big deal.

"Did they take you off the line for that?" he was asked. "Nope. It was cauterized and not bleeding' so I didn't think much of it. Didn't even put in for a Purple Heart!"

When men were men and everyone knew it.
