Peanut butter and jelly....

The Air Force reinvents the PB&J sandwich. I don't remember having a PB&J fifty years ago in the Air Force. Though I was given C-Rats once that was stamped 1945.

Well in the ARMY we had pb&j on crackers in some of the c-rations but that link on the AF sweet potato pb&j is disgusting to me I'd rather eat those old c-rats we had....

While I was stationed at Shaw AFB back in '76, my wife had to return home to her mother in Michigan who needed help after some surgery. I had my pay checks sent to her thinking she'd only be gone a couple of weeks. Turned into a couple of months and boy.......DO I REMEMBER LIVING ON PB&J sandwiches during that time!!!!

I loved those C-Rats. I think we were given a whole case back in the early '80s with those white-ish opaque indestructible spoons. You could shive some fools without them breaking. Don't remember how old they were. But my favorites were the chocolate pucks with toffee bits.
