holy guacamole---prices
due to the inclement weather, i needed some shorts. my favorite shorts were made from my bdu's left over from my military career. but as luck and a lot of beer would have it i have somehow outgrown them. looked at wal-mart but wasnt impressed with what they had. they had zippers in their bdu shorts, come on man. so i thought i would go out to Keesle afb and buy me a couple pair of bdu pants and have shorts made. my gosh!!! Bdu pants were a little over $50.00 a pair and shirts were $46.00. i cant imagine paying a $100 for a pair of bdu's. when i was an instructor at Keesler i maintaind four pairs and broke starch every two days. wonder what the clothing allowance is now. i guess ill make a trip to the surplus store and see what they have.

If Keesler has an on-base thrift shop like a lot do, hit that and you are likely to find all the old uniforms you want. Also, check the closest Goodwill, etc to the base. There will likely be tons on old BDU's there as well.

I was shopping on Propper yesterday to replace my Black BDU shirt I used to wear as a summer over shirt. Because I couldn't remember Rothco so that was the reason why I was looking in Propper. They suckered me in to buying $75 worth of crap to get free shipping.
https://www.rothco.com/product/rothco-colored-camo-bdu-shorts they went up, too. I remember them being like $25 or maybe $30? Then again that was over 20 years ago.
