Hey Ray,
Back in November you commented in one of my threads during my heart problem that I was going through at that time right after my wife June had passed away you said your wife Diane was in a battle for her life in the hospital with her 3rd bout of pneumonia after also battling cancer and I never saw any more news on how she's doing.
I've thought about this over the months from time to time and wondered if you could update us on how she's doing?
I hope and pray she recovered and is doing well now.

Smitty, Sorry to take so long to respond. I had one foot out the door to Virginia when I first saw your post. Just got back about a week ago from my 2nd home in Kent's Store, Virginia. Was down for couple weeks end of May and this last trip for almost a month. All hell breaks out when you walk away from a place for almost 3 years. Day before I left it was 99 degrees when I cleaned up VDOT's mess at my road frontage. A house and three acres is way to much when you are a caregiver at 79.
My daughter Heather takes care of my Diane when i go off to Virginia. Heather lives in Stamford in Delaware County on her little six acre farm. She is my angel and has bailed me out many times with Diane's illnesses. It is beautiful country up there in Delaware County and Heather is finally realizing her dream with her horse farm. Over a two hour drive from my NY home to Heathers place upstate. When I take Diane to Heathers it is almost like moving. I have been at this for over 5 years now Smitty and don't know how much longer i can hold on. Because of Diane's health my dream of moving back to Virginia is fading fast.
Diane has had pneumonia three times in last 2 years. Last two cat scans there was no change in tumor in left lung. Chemo and Radiation are no goes. They got most of tumor by going down her windpipe in Westchester Medical Center. It was a rare 3 inch tumor that non smokers get and Diane was a smoker. Go figure. Her left knee was replaced from the terrible fall she took from stroke about five years ago but right knee is nothing but trouble and too risky to replace in her condition.
To all you folks on the Forum, I have been lurking a little on the Forum but I am truly burned out. All I ever wanted was to take my Sweetheart to Virginia and live out the few remaining years that we have left. I will try to drop in from time to time.--------------Ray
Thanks for the update.
"Carry me back to old Virginia
There's where the cotton and corn and taters grow
There's where the birds warble sweet in the springtime
There's where this old darkey's heart am long'd to go
There's where I labor'd so hard for old Massa
Day after day in the field of yellow corn
No place on earth do I love more sincerely
Than old Virginia the State where I was born
Nice to see you check in, Raymond. Prayers for you and your wife from here.
