Once the BOOM, BOOM starts my two girls go completely crazy!! I am able to ignore their craziness but their crazy makes my wife crazy!! The problem is that she is already slap plumb nuts, the BC's just make her worse.
So how are your dogs doing tonight??

I'll be locking them in their crates in the basement. I have some doggy Darvon but it doesn't help.
Over the counter allergy med Benadryl can be used to calm frightened pets. Dosage can vary a lot because of the wide range of dog sizes but the dosage info is easily found online.
Might work for the wife too!😁 Bob
Since we put in AC instead of evap cooler and windows open, the cats are totally chill. Pun intended.
Martha has been in the basement the last two night.....
AHHH, the LGD is on patrol same as always. He may think all those booms are coyotes crossing into yotie heaven.
Bella is laying beside me in the den
She has to be beside someone when the noise starts . She get super scared . Luke is in the bedroom with my wife and ignores it all
Mine pays no attention to fireworks and boy have the neighbors been busy.
we had a German Shepard Buddy 130 pounds of gentle dog we lost two years ago he was scared of any loud noise , we have still have three dogs and Macie a pound rescue is the same way any loud noise frighten her in a storm she will go hide her favorite place is one of the bathrooms it has no windows as its surrounded by other rooms she will even close the door LOL . going out is a not a option for her she will hold it untill the storm has passed, or the loud noise has went away
I tell my wife and sons Macie just listens to the news when they say go to a interior room away from any windows and close the doors for safety LOL
One of my GSD's liked the cold porcelain bathtub, behind the curtain.
The other preferred my lap.
Both dogs tipped the scales at 140+ lbs.
RIP ... Leo & Vinnie
My son's Aussie/English Shepherd would want to graft herself to you during fireworks shows but what really drove her nuts was when we were getting new shingles -- she just couldn't figure those air nailers out.
I avoid the issue by not having pets.
She thinks we're out hunting. Bang is a good sign. A bit surprised there's not much bird scent and definitely unhappy that there aren't any birds to retrieve. I keep getting that "I thought you were going to the range to practice your wing-shooting" look.
That's sad, Mohawk.
Not at all. I live in an efficiency apt. and work 60 hrs a week min. I don't have the time for a companion animal and avoid the responsibilty of pet ownership deliberately.
My dog just doesn’t care about fireworks.
He hears them every night from Disney World.
I've owned several dogs over the years that hated loud noises like fireworks and gunfire. As pups most of them didn't mind the noise but when older, they just seemed to go nuts.
Not sure why this is.
