Is there such an animal? Just curious.

On a Nagant sure , cylinder closes tight to barrel
Look up the OTs-38 Stechkin and the S&W QSPR.
It is seen on the TV all the time, makes a small pew pew noise.
Therefore it should work just fine🙃
Even on a NAGANT, the back pressure is going to force crud into all the tiny crevices resulting in a malfunction within very few shots. Only in Hollyweird does the 'silenced revolver' work as advertised.
I have references of a German design which had a sort of clamshell which enclosed the cylinder and made for a gas tight seal. Needs to say, reloading would be awkward.
Will it work on a Mosin Nagant pistol?
Don't qualify, not a revolver.
I see what you did there Mark......................."needs to say"...............lol
I had to look through four books on silencers until I found the one photo...
Keep in mind that even if the revolver silencer was in production in Europe, the importation of silencers for civilian sales ended with the Gun Control Act of 1968. Even so, the Hubner design (Hubner is shown holding a silenced Walther SMG) shows creativity and innovation in solving an issue that few have bothered to tackle.
That works well.
thats only when Peppy is shooting them...................
Since I've never tried it personally, I assume the normal cylinder gap is going to make a silencer pretty pointless? I've shot revolvers a fair bit and never really considered that the noise would escape there. I think it makes sense, since there's a goodly amount of hot gasses and sometimes flamage, depending on caliber. That there model BigCityBill posted up is pretty sweet. Seems like more revolvers should do that.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I think that would be a muffler, not a can.
I've seen can on a revolver many a time on the old Hawaii 5-0
Works well in Hollywood.

Considering that holding the bolt closed on a suppressed 22 semi-auto pistol(containing all the gas within the barrel & suppressor) makes a significant difference in the overall noise level, the sound of gas issuing from the barrel/cylinder gap would be very noticeable.
I remember an episode of "Hawaii Five 0" (Jack Lord and not the one currently running thing) where Wo Fat had three killers shoot someone with three revolvers with cans.
