Brother in law's girlfriend was born in West Virginia but has lived in Virginia all her life. She needs a copy of her birth certificate. What state agency does she need to contact?

Don't know how to post link but go t WVA birth certificate search, Google that is.
Cost a $ or 2.

I would guess Jim she needs to get hold of/go to the courthouse in the county she was born in, the county clerk should have it on file, not sure if the original hospital would still have copy or not. most places will only take a certified copy which must be stamped, I know here the county clerk does that. hope it helps
Yes, thanks. I think they are going to Princeton to the Mercer County court house to start off.

When I need my birth certificate about 25 years ago to get a passport, I contacted the Dept of Records in Springfield, IL (the state capitol) even though I was born in Peoria. I was never issued a birth certificate when I was born. I was worried that I would miss my trip to Salzburg but a nice lady asked a lot of questions about my background and I got one in less that a month.
