Reloading 8mm Mauser

magripamagripa Member Posts: 47 ✭✭

I am new to reloading and would need recommendation for 8x57 Mauser in auto loading rifles. What bullet powder would work best in FN49 and M76?

Thanks

My "hunting" load is 46.3 of 760 pushing a 185 Grain bullet. YMMV.

I'd stick with a starting load or maybe a tad bit more of something like 4895 and 180-185 grain bullet with a WW2 era semi-auto. Slow powders and heavy bullets may cause problems similar to the results of using same in the Garand.

Being new to reloading you need to review about reloading for auto and lever action type rifles before you start testing your reloads in your gun. (vs reloading for bolt action type rifles)
