HVAC GUYS?

We had an air scrubber installed with the new furnace/heat pump about 5 years ago. Of course, we didn't understand it might only last 3 years before needing to be replaced. We didn't really notice a difference with it in use so said "screw it". The plenum is in the corner of the garage and if I unscrew the scrubber, it looks like there's a hole sufficient for a small register to mount in the opening, perhaps 8x10 or so. The garage is 20x24 with 10' ceilings (4800 cubic feet?) and is an insulated space with textured drywall. I'm wondering if I put in a register, will I see any noticeable effect on heating and cooling of that space? Particularly in more temperate weather?
