High-School Clay Target League Shuts Down in Wake of New California Gun Law (msn.com)
"“Guns are not toys – they are deadly weapons,” said Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan (D-Orinda). “California has some of the strongest gun laws in the country and it is unconscionable that we still allow advertising weapons of war to our children.” Whether intentionally or not, the law also had the consequence of shutting down a successful youth clay target league that provided a safe, constructive, competitive sport for California middle and high-school students."

Clay pigeons have feelings and rights too, don'tcha know! I'm sure they are happy with this unintended result.
We sure don't want to be teaching responsibility and safe gun handling to those impressionable youth. After all, it would take time away from their pronoun indoctrination.
Seriously, I have mentioned before about Judy and I helping with the Scholastic Clay Target team at our local high school. I think they are some of the best kids you will ever see. Good attitudes, eager to learn and we do turn out some pretty fair shooters. These are kids I am proud to be associated with. Bob

New York State is maneuvering to do the same thing. Scholastic Clays is pretty healthy Upstate. Some schools have banned it. We have got around it by forming off campus teams and help from 4- H..
