Whatever happened to Morton House Salisbury Steak & Mushroom Gravy?
I had a hankering. and went to looking, and found nothing.
I used to eat it a lot when I was a kid, Over toast, it's pretty darn good.

Going to have to make it yourself. Having some deer sausage gravy..( mushroom soup ) and biscuits for supper.
Lots of recipes on the net...
i make that myself also. had about a half a package of hamburger left over the other day, granddaughters were by. so i fried us three patties and made mushroom gravy with the drippins. did some steak fries in the air fryer, poured the gravy over the hamburger and fries. the girls loved it, they had never eaten it before. making good scratch gravy is an art form.
Man, I love Salisbury Steak and mashed potatoes/gravy
Supply chain
People realized there was good food out there and it went by the wayside.
But it might be making a comeback in Biden's economy.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Yep, make your own.
Only Salisbury Steak I can find is the Banquet Family or the single meal.
Speaking of things one can't find at the grocers. Concentrated Frozen Apple Juice. I wanted to use it for the pork butt I did a few weeks back but all I could find was frozen oj.
On-Cor makes one don't know if it's available where you live though. I can get plenty of that where I live but can't get their Veal Parmigan. Lots of things have disappeared since the pandemic I can list at least 25 food items I used to buy that I can't get now.
No On-Cor here.
Damn it David, Now I want some!!!! Swanson I think still makes it. That was a staple when we first got married. Nothing like them old TV dinners.
Con agra bought them out and discontinued the brand in 2000. Presumably to decrease competition with one of its other lines. Food lion ,the large grocery store made a similar move locally when they bought up and shutdown several piggy wiggly stores.
Quit buying and eating that stuff after cracking a tooth on a bone chunk in the mix! Kind of miss the taste though.
Does remind me of a lot of early meals made by the wife when we were newly weds almost 50 years ago.
Hamburger Helper "cheeseburger macaroni" was also a staple back then! We were lucky to afford baby formula, a bag of potatoes and a bag of onions in those early years!
