Government to Be Shut Down?
The Senate moves to advance a bill raising the U.S. debt limit?
Here we go again with the three ring circus in Washington D.C. to balance the ledger once again against the American people who are stuck with the bill & stupidity from our Glorious leadership that are called elected officials?

Senate Democrats pushed forward with a party-line 50-to-43 vote on the legislation, which cleared the House on Wednesday. A day earlier, the Treasury Department warned that it would hit the limit by Oct. 18 and inaction would risk a first-ever default on the federal debt.
Congress raises the debt limit to cover spending it has already approved, and failure to address that ceiling could force the Treasury Department to default on its loans and struggle to pay Social Security payments and crucial benefits.
Republicans continue to insist that Democrats, who control the White House and both chambers of Congress, should act to lift the debt ceiling without any votes from the minority party. Democrats, who helped raise the cap under the Trump administration, have argued that Republicans should help shoulder the political responsibility for such measure.
But in the Senate, where both parties control 50 seats, Republicans are adamant that they will not help Democrats clear the 60-vote threshold needed to advance most pieces of legislation.

It will stay running... the Fed is trying to slow down the economy..just opposite of what it should be doing..nothing... So they want people out .of work... Interest rates high to buy a home what possibly could go wrong
Wait for the covid shut down to keep the subjects from the up rise.
I thought only the evil republicans could shut down the government. Since they're in the minority....
Considering the present, me think shutdown of government would be a good thing.
But The republicans said they won't vote for it! Do you think the V.P. will do it again for The Democrats?

Let it shut down. This is the most worthless administration in the history of the United States.
Rhinos always fold! They will get their pork and enough will vote to pass! "We HAD to fund the govt"! SMDH. FJB.
Will see were the chips will fall soon! I suppose The democrats will abolish the debt ceiling if The republicans won't raise it with a bipartisan vote. When they do it's all she wrote for a sound government.Kicking the can down the road is about over one way or another!

Senate Republicans oppose any increase in federal borrowing authority. Both Schumer and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell used the word "catastrophic" to describe potential economic and financial fallout of a failure to raise the limit, yet McConnell has said Republicans would not support raising the limit without spending cuts.
No. 2 Senate Democrat Dick Durbin told reporters he was worried over the possibility of an historic U.S. debt default.
A default is probably bound to happen eventually. We can blame politician's all we want but it's really the publics fault. They allowed it to happen. They keep electing idiots to office over and over again and often times the same idiots. AOC ring a bell. But she's just symptomatic of the broader problem.
Human nature to buy on credit with debt however The Republic is dead with a circumvented constutional policy of how we make and coin money. Our Fore Fathers & Mothers knew this yet congress and The judicial system went along with it. All of men's governments have and always will be corrupt.

The roughly 10-week spending bill would keep agencies funded at their current levels into the lame duck session of Congress, punting on appropriations until after the midterm elections but creating a new deadline before the new Congress is seated. The measure includes "anomalies" to provide funding increases for certain programs, such as $400 million to increase hiring at the Social Security Administration; $20 million for the Army Corps of Engineers to assist with the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi; and $1 billion for the Health and Human Services Department's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program. It also includes more than $12 billion for Ukraine aid, matching the White House’s request, and new funding for disaster relief. It would not provide the requested funds to address monkeypox and COVID-19.
Politicians are made up of mostly lawyers. Seems that more and more also have a side gig as magicians. They can conjure up money out of thin air!
