That's just cool
Very COOL!! Funny how the cartoon version looks absolutely nothing like the real McCoy!
think we will ever find out if they taste like chicken??????
I usually have a family of them running around my place at certain times of the year, Spring I guess, haven't seen any lately but they got to be so common, I may just not be noticing after seeing them here for 22 years.
That is the biggest quail I ever saw....😜
Sorry, reminded me of a drive with a buddy years ago. Turkeys were new to our area in Illinois and when he saw one he exclaimed "That is the strangest Pheasant I have ever seen"
He's waiting for the ACME delivery.....
We had a family of them around for a few years then none. We finally seen one around some again this year, but only a little bit. I absolutely love the way they run. I start giggling the way they level out flat, then their tail comes up and head comes up when they stop as if it is their air brakes.
One used to follow me around when I was on the riding mower. He'd never get closer than about 20' while I was on the mower, or ~50' when I was standing, but he loved all the bugs I kicked up out of the tall grass. The scissortail's liked to sit along the fence and dive down at bugs too. They are extremely maneuverable for their size.
Saw a car with a dent in the fender that had a black sticker of the "Road Runner" applied😁
See them almost daily here, in the desert, in the neighborhoods, near the Starbucks. Pretty adaptable, those ground cuckoos.
See them in Central Texas occasionally......more common to the west and south of my area.
I can honestly say that I have never seen one. Only pictures.
