Got the tax statements yesterday. Our home since the Dr. has the homestead exemption went down down down to where I cannot believe how cheap it is for taxes. Reckon the State takes care of the older folks.

Just got my SC tax bill yesterday... Lexington county..... < $400.00...... 25 years ago it was >$3000.00......
Isn't that great.... My tax on the Corvette is more than the house... but it goes down each yr.. no biggie.
Nice to hear some good news. Good for you SC folks.
Well, I just can't wait to get back home to see what my R. E. tax bill is🤑
S\F, are you saying SC charges you taxes annually for your possessions?
You can bet yer sweet bippy he is!! 😬 They're called personal property taxes.......EVERY year!!!
I was in Columbia SC for a few months in the early 80's.......and was concerned if the new job would "stick".........it did not. Glad I kept my Texas driver's license and bank account........as the "temporary job" was just that.
There's more than one state, on the Eastern Seaboard, referred to as "Taxachusetts". 🤑
It is no deal... On a vehicle you only pay 500 sales tax on purchase regardless if it is 5k or a million. Each yr the vehicle is taxed by the county you live in. After 15 yrs or a 15 yr old vehicle.. tax is about 15 bucks for registration.
Say on a 100k dollar vehicle the state sales tax is 7 per cent you would pay 7k on purchase in another state. We pay 500 and each yr up to 15yrs it goes down.
Use to be 300 dollars max on a vehicle purchase regardless of price. Went up to 500 a few yrs back. Here are the sales tax table for each state . I did leave one detail out.. Property tax is only sent IF you register the vehicle to drive. Some of my collector cars are that..collector never driven on the road so they are not taxed... Only sales tax on purchase for title transfer.
