...Yeah, but never paid for one...always gone on some of my friends ranches...easy to know if hogs are around, a handful can root up and ruin a good size pasture overnight, I think some outfitters have guaranteed hunts...big sows/boars are trophy's, several hundred pounds...small ones, piglets, are good to eat, though some folks dont think so...I dont care to hunt 'em anymore, you just hit 'em with a light, and a pretty long shot, and its over...always thought shooting 'em from a helicopter would be a hoot...The small Javelinas are fun to hunt, used to go to Big Bend area and shoot those...no limits or restrictions on the hogs, the Javelinas have hunting restrictions, of course need a Texas hunting license for both...
I want to go!!
Is it your plan to do a hunt or to just watch a video?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
No hogs but wanting to go to Texas and shoot a Nilgai Antelope
...Select...
...Lots of Pronghorns out around Marfa, and big Muleys, great hunting... the Nilgai Antelope are on private ranches in South Texas, pay to shoot $$...those Antelope are monsters...it would be like skinning and butchering a huge cow!..:), but butchering is included with the hunt...lots of meat though, and would be a hoot to hunt and shoot one of those suckers, and supposed to be really good eatin'...I haven't found too many critters I wouldnt eat, if it swims, crawls or walks, I'll eat it....no, havent & wont eat a skunk...:)
I killed a lot of wild hogs in Georgia. The ham from a 95 pound wild sow, ten hours on the smoker with pecan wood, is the best meat I ever ate. Delicious flavor and less fat than commercial pork.
A hog hunt would be really cool, I'd enjoy that.
They were easy to hunt in Georgia. They are not as wary as deer. I shot a lot of them from my tree stand.
Any gun was legal for hogs in Georgia, one day I went hog hunting with a 1911 Colt. Just walking through the woods with a pistol in a holster, didn't have to carry that heavy rifle. Walked up on a 110 pound boar and killed it with 2 shots. The small boar was not as good as a sow, but it was pretty good.
