New Greener wall hanger

Picked this one up this afternoon. Greener (not W.W. Greener) 10 gauge shotgun with Damascus barrels. I am thinking that it is a Belgian copy. I plan on throwing a couple of spikes in the wall and let it collect dust. Any information would be great. Thanks.

It is a beautiful 🙂for decor, maybe cut the tape and hang if it would stay together.😊
"maybe cut the tape".............yup, the duct tape has to go, real class is black electrical tape. ;-)
Looks like friction tape to me. I'd leave it, as it is part on the old girl's charm
Definitely loose the tape and replace it with an old piece of leather or rawhide.
Too late...........I removed the tape and found a multi-piece forearm. I'm going to try and re-glue it back together. I like the idea of wrapping some old leather around it! More to follow.............
No glue.......use a high quality epoxy, such as AcraGlas.
Leather?.......maybe......maybe not.
Maybe this helps??????😇
YES IT IS AN "INEXPENSIVE" BELGIUM COPY IMPORTED IN THE LATE 1800'S. REGULAR WOOD GLUE WILL WORK FINE AND MAKE A STRONG BOND. WIPE OFF THE EXCESS WITH A WET RAG BEFORE IT DRIES.
Glue it together with some good wood glue, it will do fine hanging on the wall. Leather, or some other type of wrap would detract from its coolness. Use some wood filler that closely matches it to fill in any voids, and stain if necessary. It ain't no prom queen, but cleaned up, would look great with a little work as a decoration. I'd love to have one like that to work on...Please post pics when it's done.
Toad, (and others), The re-glue has begun.............Just like anvils and adjustable wrenches, you can't have enough clamps! I'll continue this on the general forums as I progress this one.
On the barrel flats and water table should be Belgian proof marks: E over LG in an oval and an obelisk (little tower), as well as a few other stamps. Should look great hanging on the wall.
