I don't know old from new, but I look to the far right of the search bar at the top of the page, and click on the word, "Advanced."

Then I click the tab marked, "Completed Items."

From there, put whatever search parameters you want in the search bar, and search.

Be sure you are signed in on the auction. Then go to "advanced" search. Once in advanced mode, there will be a tab labeled "completed items". This is what you want.

Seems like searching completed auctions isn't all that advanced. But it does work well.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain
