Payment Gateway for Newbie

I don't sell a lot on Gunbroker but currently have more to sell and am looking into getting setup for Gunbroker's immediate checkout. Do you think the immediate checkout really helps increase sales? Any one have advice for a small seller on this matter? Thanks.

IIRC, the immediate checkout is basically only where the buyer fills out "the order" to the seller, stating how they will pay, and what, if any choice, method of shipping they want to use. If the seller doesn't accept any electronic payment, and will only take a check or m/o, then the word immediate doesn't really come into play.
If you are trying to grow a business....YES.
If you are just trying to sell a few things here and there its a lot to deal with, but still worth giving it a go.
You will need to look around at your options, make sure you pick a gateway that approves firearm sales.
Be aware of the endless fees they charge.....no card is charged the same and its impossible to navigate all the nonsense they pile on. Don't feel bad for passing these fees on to the buyers....if they choose to use a card it should be their responsiblity to pay the fees.
Be sure to be "PCI compliant" which is a silly little questionare you have to fill out once a year...if you aren't they can charge you another fee.
You'll have to stay on top of what transactions are pending....a ballpark figure you expect to be deposited for your batches. I have a daily total jotted down at the end of each day and I check my account to match these up to a deposit so I catch it if there is an issue. I've found if there is a problem they will hold the entire batch, not just that one transaction.
Good luck!
As a buyer I won't use immediate checkout with CC. Tried many times resulting in failure every time. I call the seller with info. Works every time.
My old boss at West Point use to say" Ray, if you got something important to say, don't E-mail me, pick up the damn phone and call me". God bless him. Just my 2 cents. ----------------Ray
Thanks for the helpful input.
