The Bag Gate thread got me thinking....Have you ever been around an attempt to cheat...Let's hear it

If there is a way to cheat, somebody will figure out a way to do it.............

An example I was involved in dealt with Cub Scout Pinewood Derby cars. I was a 15 year old boy scout and was one of the officials for the races. I weighed in cars to make sure they were under the 5 oz limit, the next guy checked the wheels etc to make sure no one was using improper wheels or axels. The final guy looked everything over one last time. And then the car was qualified to race.

The races started and I was at the finish like to call the winner. This was before Electonic eyes, so it was my call alone. For the most part the cars finished fairly close but one really smoked everyone. The kid would line up the car and his Dad was right there to grab it. We got into the 2nd round when I started to think something had to be off.....so I grabbed the car as it came through the finish.... The Dad about knocked me over trying to get it. The problem was evident. The car weighed way more than the 5 oz limit. The Dad kept trying to take it away from me as another leader came over. The Dad looked me in the eye and said you weighed it so it is legal.

So, I flipped it over as I put a red dot from a Majic Marker on each car as I weighed them.....Guess what...NO DOT. The guy started to get in my face when another leader yelled over there was a 2nd car in a box under the Dad's coat. An exact 2nd car. The Dad and his son were invited to leave at the point. Dad left threatening all of us as we held on to both cars. Sad thing all the way around, we never saw the kid at scouts again. His old man took that away from him I guess.

We restarted the race from the beginning and the rest ran rather smoothly. When everyone had cleared out, we weighed the car. 9 oz and non standard wheels...

Got a good story, join in...

I have been on this forum since 2007, so take a guess.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

I was at the Midwest Tool Show in Hastings, Mn and I had 3 tables full of old tools. Mostly old axes, hammers, really good stuff to collect, some Stanley planes. I price my stuff low as these guys are resellers and won't buy at retail, so I get a crowd around my tables and I do fairly good. I noticed that I was missing 2 packets of push drill bits for the Stanley Yankee 41 push-drills. I had them priced at $8 each and I could get $30 for them on-line, but I knew I didn't sell them, but turned up missing. Really irks me one of the buyers was a shoplifter there.

When we set up, it's a big deal we have to cover our tools, no selling until the big guy says so at 8:30, but I have other vendors come over while I'm setting up and they grab my tools before they hit the table. The # 7 Stanley went for $55 and it went on his table and priced it at $75, and it sat there, no takers. The Norlund hatchet went for $60 and he repriced it at $85 and it sat there with no takers. I couldn't leave my table for a minute, I'd have lookers and then the slow moving stuff, my 20 Disston saws were not selling after the first 3 sold, so I dropped the price in half and got most of them gone, I just hate having to carry the stuff back home. 6 boxes in and a bucket of axes and I left with one box and a long axe.

I am a USPSA RO and competitor.

I would say the most cancerous guys are the C class shooters who have spent money one everything possible and they are still C class shooters.

They will game the starting position, transitions, shooting positions, ammo, you name it.

It can work at a local match but not at a major. The big dogs put too much into the sport to give the cheaters an inch. As a result mostly the squads will police themselves, which ironically is another problem all together.

My target at a black powder competitive shoot would have won except it had 6 holes in it. It was a 5 shot relay!!😲

The guy next to my target only had 4 holes in his. 😡 My target was thrown out.
