Remington 597 magazine failure

I am wondering if anybody who owns a Remington 597 has had bad experiences with the magazine release not holding the magazine in properly.

Is the problem with one magazine or more than one?
I know that Remington Changed over to the Metal magazines or the 597 later on. No sure if that was because of the problem you are having.
