And for the first time since 1989, I will be sitting this one out.....Trying to be philosophical about the whole thing but sad about it too. I figure I take care of myself and be a good boy, I may make it out there later in the week or at least some in the final season in late December....
Good luck Susie, you and your party be safe out there....
Anyone else getting out there, the same...

Wise choice. Take care of yourself first.
I miss Missouri deer hunts maybe when I retire I can start hunting up there again just got back from a South Carolina hunt and put a nice doe in the freezer and will be hunting in a couple weeks in the Florida panhandle
I do feel for you Frank as I had to sit out last year's hunt due to back problems. On the bright side, it makes this years outing feel like a 9 year old boys Christmas!!
You just stay with your program of getting back up to snuff and know that for us old timers, a year goes by a lot quicker than it used to!
I miss being a kid at cousin Ernie's farms, (Washington and later Union) or fishing with him on the Bourbois River.
Shot this 8 pointer Sunday afternoon. This is the 2nd deer I've gotten using 62gr Federal Fusion 223 out of my Windam AR15.
Congrats drobs........😀
You wouldn't recognize Washington anymore
Hadn't been there since they put the highway right through the middle of the farm. Late 60's ??
Our paths probably crossed at one time I had family that had farm property that got affected when they move HWY 100 South of Washington
I was caught in a wildfire and suffered 2nd & 3rd degree burns to my hands and 2nd degree burns on my face on Nov 2. Lifeflighted to University Med Center in Columbia.
Opening morning I was in the 'deer house' watching the bucks chasing does every which way. About 8:30 am, a big 160 class 200#+ buck made the mistake of stopping @ 150 yards. Last mistake he'll ever make. Won the local big buck contest by default because word got out and someone sneaked a pic onto a public venue. After that, no one would ante up the entry fee.
Gotta thank Son and Grandson for helping me to the stand, dragging the monster 50 yards to the pickup, and loading it(cheated-used a hydraulic hoist for that part).
Prayers that you heal up well !!!! Sounds like you have had a wild couple of weeks...
PIC of the deer ?
Oh wow, you used a evil black rifle and a 223 Rem also.(joking) .lmao. Don't you know you can't kill a deer with that set up according to those dumbmocrats.
Great score.
