Horrible mid-air crash at Dallas Air Show

Two WW-II planes collided. A P-63 hit a B-17 and both immediately crashed. No chance of survivors. Videos on multiple source but I wanted to post here right away.
First impression is that the P-63 pilot screwed up big time. Was apparently turning to pass ahead of the bomber but lost sight of it and hit it dead center.
I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

As my father used to say "There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots."
A pilot can never to careful. One mistake can be fatal.
I've always been concerned about a Blue Angels collision sending 2 jets sliding through the spectators causing extensive loss of life. In today's society that will be the end of air shows.
That's just darn sad, 😐️
Prayers out to all .
just plain horrible for the crew of the planes and countless people who were watching just out to have a good time at the show . prayers to all
such a sad and tragic event to happen
its goes with out saying the loss of the old planes I want to be clear its no where near the sadness or level of loss of the people ,
but I for one hate the thought of the historic aircraft completely destroyed .
Tragic accident. Prayers

...same here...I heard that the B-17 that was destroyed was one of only 5 B-17s left flying, all were based in Houston...then there were 4...
Just heard that 6 people lost their lives in that crash. Very sad, tragic accident!
My brother-in-law were passengers in a B-17 a few years ago. If memory serves there were 10+ passengers plus a 3 man crew. Two were WW2 vets on board a 17 for the first time since the war.
My first thought when hearing of this was giving thanks that this was not the case here.

The pilot of the fighter lost his awareness or was trying to show off.............cut the bomber in half. Pretty sad.
