Made in 1968, the second year of production for BDL Varmint rifles and chambered for 6 MM Remington, the old gun is in excellent condition with pretty wood and a pristine bore.

Agree, they don't come much nicer than that. What is the do-dad on the left rear of the base? Looks like it has an after market trigger in it.
Damn!! You got some eyes on you!! That is an adjustable folding peep sight mounted on that Redfield base. I have never seen one before and I don't think it would do any good on this rifle as
it has no front sight.
That's pretty cool, never seen one before. It will do well..
That Redfield base is "old school". There was an era when those bases came that way. My memory won't let me pin down the time frame but my guess is about the time that rifle was made. I have a few of those bases on my rifles which tells you how old I am!
Ricci, tell us the auction number, please.
will do
That's a nice one for sure, what a rifle should look like.
When my Dad got sick he wanted me to get rid of the 30/06 and I traded it for a 700 6mm Varmit. He only got to shoot it a little while till he died.
Nice
Only problem with a gun that purty is I'd be afraid to take it out of the safe.
It should do well for you!
Been hunting with one of those in 7 mag since 1987. This year will be the last elk hunt, then it will be sold. Wood is not quite that nice.
one of the first guns I bought when I got my first job was a Rem 700 BDL in 30-06
I really had no use for it or even a place to shoot it . I still lived at home in town with my parents I was 16 but I had to have one . I traded it off at least 40 yrs ago, I bet it had 20 rounds thru it at the most . I do not remember what I traded for . but know now I should have kept it 😥
