Well, its ten degrees, 20 mile an hour wind from the NW, and snow showers. But its 60 degrees in my Shanty, and thinking about gutting something out in those conditions, I quit early. Got two in the freezer from bowhunting. Did see a few but nothing that tempted me.

same here but not so warn in the pop up blind , did have two heaters going most of the day ,, came home with 5 empty 1lb bottles ,,, saw several deer but none that where shootable by the land owners rules , oh well tomorrows another day
The price for pound bottles is up to six bucks here, I refill my own and it works well, but I mostly got my heaters hooked up to cylinders.
I just picked up some more tonight at Walmart for 5.47, I've been keeping the empties thinking about doing the refill but haven't got around to seeing what it take to do it
Nothing to it, get a cheap fitting, put the pound cylinder in the fridge, tip the large cylinder upside down and hook up the pounder. Open the valve and away you go. You can weigh the pounder to see how much propane transferred. Might not be a full pound, but close.
Just buy a hose adapter to go from a 5 gallon tank to your heater, it will pay for itself in a couple of days.....
Thats the way to go if you arent trying put put your heater up in a tree stand.
my 71 year old body can't handle it any more to much stuff to haul and to far to walk as I used to hunt all day without coming in for breakfast and lunch.
I got ten years on you, just wait, If I dont use a heated shanty, Ill stay home.
