Thanks, Joe Biden...not.
2.77 right now in local town
Ohio
There were rumors back in early November that gas would be 7 bucks a gallon by Thanksgiving and the country had a 2 week supply of diesel fuel.I guess it was the usual doom and gloomers.
2.77 here. BUT the price of fuel will go down during a recession. People NOT driving for vacation or going to work. That lowers the demand.
I can PROMISE that lower gas prices are NOT because we have good leadership!
I paid $2.57 yesterday. Think I'll just go out and drive around aimlessly.
Gas is still in the 3.50 plus range around here. Up and down from one day to the next but never yet below 3.50.
Fuel is getting cheap. Groceries are headed down. Inflation will take a nosedive. Peace on earth. I need to get off the beer. 😉
Price follows demand, and is sensitive to a tight market. Demand in the US is down 3% from its summer peak. Good it’s down, but it reflects a slowing economy in addition to the normal winter reduction in use.

87 Octane can be found in NE Arkansas for $2.48 and diesel for $3.77.
Price is $3.39 west central Illinois. Strategic oil reserve is over half gone, and appears it’s not being replaced.
Average price of gas nation wide in 2020 was $2.17
They're saving the price increase until the change of congress.
4.40 here in the real Northern California...

I paid $2.449 yesterday at Walmart in Wake Village, Texas. If it drops another dollar, it will be what it was 3 years ago.
