,,,,,,,,, for converting .38-55 or .30 WCF to .32-40 brass.
I know the .30 WCF will be a little short and the .38-55 a little long but both can work.
If you’ve experienced problems I would appreciate your solutions.

Might be a good idea to trim the modified 38-55 cases to proper length to avoid over crimping if the gun's chamber is a tad short.
Just to clarify, is it 32-40 Remington (.309 bullet) or 32-40 Winchester (.320 bullet)?

COTW confirms that .320 is the spec for 32-40 Winchester. New 38-55 Starline brass appears to have neck wall thickness of .006/.007 whereas 32-40 is .009 and 30-30 is .010. You decide if this is an issue.
Will be trying both brass with .321 lead. Will trim the .38-55 to length if needed.
Any powder recipes appreciated.

80+year old 32-40, 165gr on the left.
38-55 converted to 32-40, 165gr, 24.5gr of 3031 on the right. Two 38-55 cases didn’t want to ‘behave’, they now reside in the trash ,,,,, 🤣
