Can a Winchester 375, be used in a 38-55 or is it too short???? I know it is a little short but don't know if you can use it???? I have been fire forming 30-30 cases to use, but they are a little short too. The reason I ask is, A friend offered me some cases. 38-55 cases are like trying to find hens teeth. Everyone has them on backorder or they want the price of loaded ammo. Oakie

It will work, the case is rimmed so it will not have head space problems. Do not use 375 loads in in the 38-55, they are higher pressure. Use 38-55 load data and back it off 10% to start, you have slightly less case capacity and this may cause slightly higher pressure compared to the longer 38-55 case with the same load.
There might be a bit of reduced accuracy with the shorter case, especially if you are using non-jacketed lead bullets, due to the bullet having to jump a longer distance before engaging the rifling.
I would not recommend using 38-55 Brass in a 375 Win period. Max Pressure of 375 is 55,000 and 38-55 is 35,000 PSI.
375 Win Brass has a thick web for the base and brass is thicker overall. Yes I own rifles in both caliber.
O.K., Just fine for reloads, think .38 Special in a .357 or 22 short in a 22 long rifle chamber. Factory loads, NO WAY, pressure too high. Hey, if a 30-30 case is too short and works, why not a short .375? BTW, I shoot 45-70's in my 45-90.
This would save a lot of fiddlin' around...
$1.50/case, with shipping.
The case is close enough but don’t fireform 375 in a 38-55, catastrophe for sure
personally I don’t like any cartridges headstamp not matching the stamp on the Barrel
