An expert??

Ricci.WrightRicci.Wright Member Posts: 5,128 ✭✭✭✭

"The killer who stabbed four University of Idaho students to death in their sleep would likely have been injured because the fixed-blade knife used in the attack is known to dull quickly, a former FBI agent (pictured left) has claimed. The Ka-Bar-style knife (pictured top right) police are searching for in connection to the November 13 quadruple homicide is more frequently used for cuts that involve thrusting motions, instead of smoother motions, the expert told Fox News Digital."

Maybe he was a bomb tec?? He doesn't know crap about blades. I own three military issue Ka-bar "Combat Knives" and I feel sure I could stab a whole bunch of folks before I needed to resharpen. These people are either misquoted or just talk to hear themselves. It is my understanding that knife attackers sometimes do cut themselves; I have heard this often on CSI so it must be true, but the Ka-Bar design incorporates a full guard to protect the hand if used for stabbing. Most K-Bar knives have blades made from good high carbon steel and hold an edge pretty well, but I am damn sure no expert.

I hope they catch the monster who killed those kids and put him or them in the ground promptly.

An old cowhand once described an 'expert' to me like this...

An 'ex' is a has-been and a 'spurt' is a drip of water under pressure, therefore an 'expert' is usually just a drip under pressure.

I think you're right, Ricci, in that a lot of these folks like to listen to themselves talk.

in my best pos voice come on man 4 people killed we have to get rules and back ground checks in place .

I do feel for the kids but the entire thing seems a bit strange

Had to shake my head when I read that. My experience carrying one for many years never showed any such problems . Wonder if he really was a Seal?

First and foremost, I am praying for the families involved!

Well you know........that Ka-bar IS an assault knife! SMDH. This article, at least the one I read, shows that there are IDIOTS everywhere! The article SHOULD have come from the rhetorical websites, BUT it came from "news" websites.

They said that ka-bars not only dull quickly, but they are KNOWN to break easily. What a joke!

I agree that you could stab dozens of people and still have a a sharp blade.

My point is how did someone stab 2 pairs of people without anybody getting out before dying.

Even if they were sleeping, which I assumed You would have to hit the first in a few stabs and then on to the other by the time they are waking.

I hope they find this monster, but so far no traces. Had to be someone with training , military or hunting.

Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

An expert is anyone 50 miles from home with a briefcase.

Anyone recall the Beltway Sniper(s) ? And the "expert" profilers from the FBI? We were told that the sniper would be a young white male, military sniper. So what did we get? A black middle aged truck mechanic and his 15 year old accomplice.

As far as knives getting dull from use- I do not claim to be an expert. Buy I did carry and use one of these for a few years-

Yes, it could get dull- after you finished making your own door in a helicopter. Still have it.

The comment is not from any expert on anything but B.S. And after working in a hospital setting for 25 years I have met EVERY SEAL in the armed forces, so to speak. ANYONE who I was talking to that claimed they were was automatically dismissed as a clown. I really did meet and have a chat with a real * sniper that was dating a very hot nurse though.

The sad thing is the majority of people read this bs and take it as fact.

Just another mindless government dolt that thinks he has some level of expertise. The only expertise he has is bilking the taxpayers out of a cushy paycheck and retirement for "work" that he does.....

Basically any chunk of junk steel would be plenty capable of slicing them up. I've butchered deer with lesser knives and they held up just fine.

I'm also curious how they can tell just from the wounds on the deceased that it was a fixed blade knife.
