I Love Me Some Shotgun

My main house gun, well rear of house, I have a Rem 870 Police Magnum at the front. I bought this Mossberg 590 Mariner 20 inch, years ago when you could still get the Marinecote finish and the big sights together. It holds 9 rounds and the stock and fore end have been replaced with Hogue rubber over molded units. I like the "grippyness" of the rubber. I tested a lot of buckshot and found that, at least in my guns, the Hornady TAP and Federal Law Enforcement rounds shot the tightest groups and I stocked up on both. I really haven't done enough testing with slugs at distances over 25 yards, but I have both Winchester and Federal so one or both should work. I love me some shotgun. Next best thing to an air raid.

If it was a .410 I would take you seriously.
I am pretty sure the .410 was outlawed by the Genevra convention for use against people like saw toothed bayonets were. Just too messy.
I keep Mossberg shockwaves hidden around certain areas
I like the gun but could never find one for what I was Willing to pay same with Remington version
But I do have a couple 870 12 ga 20 " barrel with extended mag in easy access
Do you have any of the weird ammo for the shotgun? Like the dragons breath or the 2 balls with a wire between them or maybe some flechet ammo?
I bet he has some soaked in that coffee of his Sam, only problem is if you don't shoot em as soon as you put em in the gun, they eat the barrell off............
Agree on lovin shotguns.
I still have some 2 3/4", 11/4 oz buckhammers left too
Maybe I'm the odd thinker of the group, but my home shoty is a 21" 20 gauge, with 5-1 oz of #4's. That should do the job on anyone in my house, even at 50 feet away. I don't see a use for slugs, especially in the home, too much of a chance of collateral damage. I'm not going to be shooting at people running away where I'd need a slug..
I've got my wife set up with a VR-82, a mag fed 20 gauge that is ARish. She can run an AR like crazy so we got her this gun for it's familiarity. 5+1 rounds of 2 3/4" #3 buckshot should take care of any Golem that makes it in the house.
I run a 21" Benelli M2 Field with an extended mag. 7+1 of 12 gauge 00. I think between the two of us we've got things pretty well covered.
My slugs are for deer huntin
I think Ricci just loads with his special secret sauce special protectant after he allows it to harden in Mould for a day or two
my just in case 870"s are loaded with just the plain old " 00 " or #4 1st one is a slug in the tube followed by the spreading variety's. with any luck I will never have to try them out for a defense situation.
I'm more 'old' school
My old Ithaca 37 still gets out of the safe every year....bought it 48 years ago last month......
Don't tell me, you like 870's?
"Your bottom 1897 is almost a twin for mine"............it HAD a cutts compensator on it when I got it, I still have the tooling so I threaded it for win chokes.
